LAHORE: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has opened up about the reason he left his education incomplete, calling it one of the turning points in his life.

According to media, in a recent interview the actor recalled that his college journey ended abruptly after a heated exchange with his university principal, just days before his final exams.

Shah Rukh explained that during the shooting of his debut television series Fauji, he was trying hard to maintain attendance at the university and was preparing for exams in the library when his principal walked in. The principal told him that if it were up to him, Shah Rukh would not be allowed to sit for the exams.

“In youthful anger, I replied rudely that if that was the case, then I didn’t want to appear for the exams either and I walked out of the library,” Shah Rukh admitted.

The superstar confessed that although he had completed all his practicals, his decision meant he could not appear in the final exams. “It was childish arrogance and a mistake,” he said, expressing regret.

Shah Rukh further added that having a college degree would have made him an even bigger star today. He advised youngsters never to abandon their education, stressing that the lack of it is always felt later in life.
