Radish identified as key vegetable for gut health

2 min read

Dr Oksana Mikhaleva, an endocrinologist and Russian nutrition expert, listed several vegetables that contribute to gut health, including radish.

Radish is a low-calorie vegetable. Its consumption supports the functions of the stomach and intestines due to its high fibre content, which helps regulate digestion and promotes intestinal health. It also provides a lasting feeling of fullness, making it an effective dietary aid for individuals aiming to reduce excess weight.

Medical studies have shown that radish contains high levels of calcium and vitamin C, which support bone health, hair, and skin. These nutrients also strengthen the immune system and reduce the risk of viral infections.

Radish contains silicon, a rare but essential element for intestinal function, bone strength, and the condition of skin, hair and nails. It also includes trace elements such as cobalt, copper, molybdenum, and chromium, which are necessary to maintain the body’s natural hormonal balance. As a result, radish is considered both beneficial and essential, and its inclusion in the diet is recommended to obtain these health advantages.
