MUZAFFARGARH: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has called for immediate relief measures for farmers in flood-affected areas, including a waiver of electricity bills and provision of seeds and fertilizers.
Speaking to flood victims in Thatta Sial, Muzaffargarh, Bilawal said farmers already devastated by floods should not be further burdened with electricity bills. He stressed that ensuring access to seeds and fertilizers is crucial to revive agriculture in the affected regions.
He urged all political forces to rise above party differences and stand by the people. “This is not the time for political point scoring. We must help every victim, regardless of political affiliation,” he said, adding that collective support is the responsibility of all.
The PPP chairman also renewed his demand for the government to impose an “Agricultural Emergency”, saying federal and provincial governments must work hand in hand to ensure fair distribution of aid. He underlined that the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) is the most reliable channel to deliver assistance to deserving families.
