
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Bangladesh have agreed to enhance cooperation in the field of religious affairs with a focus on interfaith harmony, scholarly exchanges, and joint initiatives.
Bangladeshi President’s Adviser on Religious Affairs, A.F.M. Khalid Hussain met Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf in Islamabad along with a delegation. The Bangladeshi side expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and property caused by recent floods in Pakistan.
Minister Yousaf highlighted the deep-rooted historical, cultural, and religious bonds between the two nations. “Pakistan and Bangladesh share centuries-old traditions, Islamic heritage, social values, and literary expressions. Strengthening bilateral ties will benefit the entire region,” he said.
The Bangladeshi adviser expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and emphasized the importance of strengthening institutional cooperation between the two countries’ religious ministries.
Both sides agreed to form a Joint Working Group on Interfaith Harmony and to encourage exchanges between scholars and students of religious seminaries. Minister Yousaf also proposed regular interaction between religious leaders of both nations.
The Bangladeshi delegation will also participate in the upcoming two-day International Seerat Conference in Pakistan.
