ISLAMABAD: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has paid glowing tribute to Pakistan’s armed forces and people on the occasion of Defence Day of Pakistan 6 September, terming the 1965 war as a symbol of faith, resilience, and unity not only for Pakistan but also for the people of Kashmir.
In his media statement, APHC’s Secretary Information, Mushtaq Ahmad Butt, congratulated the government, armed forces, and citizens of Pakistan. He said the day carries deep meaning for Kashmiris who see Pakistan’s strength and sacrifices as their own.
“On September 6, 1965, the world witnessed how a small yet determined nation stood like a solid wall against an enemy many times bigger,” he remarked. “India attacked under the cover of darkness, but Pakistan’s soldiers and people, armed with faith and courage, crushed those aggressive designs.”
Butt emphasized that the 1965 war proved that real victories are achieved not through weapons alone, but through unity, sacrifice, and belief. He added that the valor and solidarity shown by Pakistanis remain a shining example for the entire world.
Highlighting Kashmir’s emotional bond with Pakistan, Butt said,
“For us, Pakistan is not just a country, it is our guardian and our hope. Even today, Kashmir’s streets echo with the slogan: ‘What is our bond with Pakistan? La ilaha illallah.’ This love, born of faith, keeps us tied to Pakistan despite Indian repression.”
He further stated that Kashmiris regard the Pakistan Army as their protector, and every achievement of the armed forces is celebrated in Kashmir as their own victory.
“Kashmir and Pakistan are like one body, no power in the world can separate them,” he asserted.
Paying tribute to the martyrs of 1965, Butt said their sacrifices are immortal chapters of Pakistan’s history and a guiding light for future generations. He noted that Kashmiris draw strength and inspiration from the courage of those who laid down their lives for the country’s honor and survival.
Reaffirming Kashmir’s commitment, he said the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir continue to renew their sacred bond with Pakistan and consider their freedom struggle as part of Pakistan’s ideological frontier.
“Kashmiris will never give up their struggle for freedom. One day, we will achieve our right to self-determination,” Butt said.
Concluding his message, he stressed that Pakistan’s Defence Day is not merely a remembrance of the past but a pledge for the present and future.
This day reminds us that with faith, unity, and sacrifice, nations become unconquerable. For Kashmiris, Defence Day symbolizes eternal devotion and sacrifice alongside Pakistan.
