
Lahore: Renowned Pakistani stage, TV, and film actor Anwar Ali passed away at the age of 71 after a prolonged illness, family sources confirmed on Monday.
The veteran comedian and performer had been suffering from lung and kidney complications for several days and was under treatment. On Sunday night, his condition worsened and he was admitted to a hospital on Raiwind Road, where he breathed his last.
Anwar Ali was regarded as one of the finest comedians in Pakistan’s film and theatre history. Known for his unique style and sharp wit, he won the hearts of millions with his memorable performances across stage, television, and cinema.
Tributes poured in from fans and fellow artists from the showbiz fraternity, who expressed deep sorrow at his passing and remembered him as a legend of Pakistani entertainment.
