Power Division: 169 Feeders Fully Restored in Flood-Hit Areas

Islamabad: The Ministry of Energy’s Power Division has issued a detailed report on electricity restoration efforts in flood-affected regions, showing significant progress but warning that full recovery will take more time.

According to the report, a total of 48 grids and 437 feeders were impacted by recent floods across the country. Out of these, 169 feeders have been fully restored, while 260 have been temporarily re-energized.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) reported that 85 feeders have been fully restored and 6 partially restored. Twelve grids and 91 feeders in Swat, Buner, Shangla, Swabi, and D.I. Khan were affected. While electricity supply in Swabi and D.I. Khan has been fully restored, the complete recovery of feeders in Swat, Buner, and Shangla is expected within the next two to seven days.

In Punjab, Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO) said that out of 87 affected feeders across 10 grids, 80 have been fully restored while 7 are partially functional. Meanwhile, Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) reported that 57 out of 59 affected feeders in Lahore, Okara, Sheikhupura, Kasur, and Nankana Sahib have been partially restored. Full restoration in these areas is expected between September 2 and 5.

In Faisalabad region, Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) confirmed that 26 grids and 73 feeders in Toba Tek Singh, Faisalabad, Chiniot, Jhang, Sargodha, Mianwali, and D.I. Khan were damaged. So far, one feeder has been fully restored and 72 temporarily re-energized.

Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) reported that 114 feeders in its region have been temporarily restored, with complete restoration work to begin immediately once floodwaters recede.

In tribal districts, Tribal Electric Supply Company (TESCO) reported 10 feeders damaged in North Waziristan and Khyber. Of these, one feeder has been fully restored and four temporarily brought back online.

In Hazara region, Hazara Electric Supply Company (HESCO) said two out of three damaged feeders in Mansehra have been fully restored.

The Power Division emphasized that the complete restoration of electricity in affected areas remains a top priority and assured that recovery efforts will continue round-the-clock.
