Islamabad: The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has signed an agreement with the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Human Resource Research & Development Board.

(BBSHRRDB) to provide skill training to 3,000 deserving beneficiaries under the Benazir Hunarmand Programme.

Under the partnership, BBSHRRDB will initially train BISP beneficiaries in various vocational fields, equipping them with market-driven skills for meaningful employment and entrepreneurship.

Speaking on the occasion, Senator Rubina Khalid emphasized the government’s commitment to empowerment through skills, recalling the words of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto: “Skill is your capital.”

She said the initiative is a milestone towards empowering the underprivileged, adding that the focus will be on creating sustainable livelihoods and socio-economic growth.

“While we are working to make lives easier, what matters more is improving them. Skill development and employment opportunities are essential for sustainable livelihoods and the socio-economic progress of Pakistan,” Senator Khalid stated.

The programme aims to ensure that BISP beneficiaries are trained in skills aligned with market needs, enabling them to secure jobs and start small businesses.
