Pakistan, China to boost joint training programs

1 min read

BEIJING (Internews): Pakistan and China’s Development Research Center (DRC) have agreed to sign a historic MoU to strengthen cooperation through joint research, expert exchanges, and training programs.

According to the details, the initiative will support Pakistan’s shift toward a tech-driven, export-led economy, drawing on China’s reform model that lifted over 800 million people out of poverty. It aligns with the Uraan Pakistan vision to build a $1 trillion economy by 2035, focusing on institutional learning, policy innovation, and capacity building.

This strategic outcome emerged from a high-level meeting in Beijing between Federal Minister for Planning Prof. Ahsan Iqbal and President Lu Hao, head of DRC and the Center for International Knowledge on Development (CIKD). Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to long-term economic cooperation and knowledge sharing.
