PM chairs meeting on FBR digitization, appreciates 42% revenue growth

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a key meeting regarding the digitization of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), where he appreciated the FBR’s efforts in achieving a 42% increase in tax revenues compared to the past decade.

Prime minister directed that the same level of dedication and efficiency must continue in the upcoming fiscal year, making it clear that institutional negligence or sluggishness will not be tolerated. He emphasized that all government departments must work with full commitment and cooperate closely with the FBR to achieve the country’s economic targets.

PM Shehbaz instructed the complete implementation of the Track and Trace system at both the production and distribution levels of industries and called for further expansion of the Point of Sale (POS) system.

He also stressed the need to ensure maximum facilitation for the business community and taxpayers and directed FBR officials to treat the public with respect. The Prime Minister warned that no compromise will be accepted in the pursuit of a prosperous economic future.

During the meeting, he also congratulated the participants on the approval of the budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
