BEIJING (Internews): Chinese Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Sun Weidong met with Pakistani Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi at the latter’s request on Tuesday and the two sides had an exchange of views on China-Pakistan relations as well as international and regional situations.
According to a press release on Wednesday, Sun said that China welcomes and supports a full and lasting ceasefire between Pakistan and India, and advocates that the two sides resolve their differences through dialogue and consultation and jointly commit to maintaining regional peace and stability. China is willing to continue to play a constructive role in this regard, the vice minister said.
The press release also mentions that Hashmi expressed his appreciation for China’s mediation efforts in promoting the ceasefire and peace.
