
The director general of the Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) has confirmed that the Indian military has launched missiles that struck three separate locations inside Pakistan.
In response, security sources say, Pakistan has retaliated and launched missiles against multiple targets in India. Pakistan has reportedly shot down two Indian fighter jets. They also claim all of Pakistan’s jets are safe.
In Bahawalpur, a missile attack reportedly targeted a religious seminary, killing a child and injuring a man and a woman. So far, 29 injured individuals from the missile attacks have been shifted to Bahawal Victoria Hospital. The MS claims the injured include six women and four children.
The ISPR DG issued a stern warning to India following a reported missile attack on Pakistani territory, stating that “India’s temporary happiness will be turned into permanent sorrow.”
The ISPR confirmed that India has attacked from inside its territory and fired missiles inside Pakistan targeting civilians and mosque. The targets reportedly include Masjid Sobhanullah in Ahmedpur East Bahawalpur, Kotli in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Muzafarabad.
India launches ‘Operation Sindoor’
The Indian Armed Forces confirmed the launch of ‘Operation Sindoor’, a military action aimed at striking terrorist infrastructure located in Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. According to the official statement, these sites were allegedly being used to plan and direct attacks against India.
A total of nine targets were hit during the operation, a statement claimed.
The military emphasized that the strikes were “focused, measured, and non-escalatory”, clarifying that no Pakistani military installations were targeted. The statement further added that India exercised “considerable restraint” in both target selection and the manner of execution.
Injuries and damage to life and property
It further says damage assessment is being done. In Muzaffarabad, civilian population has been targeted by India, as per SSP Riaz Haider Bukhari. He said a missile attacked Bilal Shawai Mosque, but no casualties have been reported so far.
Three people have been reportedly injured in Shawai Pachgran area of Muzaffarabad, while a mosque has been destroyed. A rocket has also hit Shaheed Gali.
“We are Muslims, we do not run away from death whenever it comes,” AJK Interior Minister Colonel Waqar told the media. “The cowardly enemy has attacked civilian population in the dark of night. The enemy will be given a befitting reply.”
Col Waqar claims Muzaffarabad’s Kotli area has also been attacked, and some injuries have been reported but remain unconfirmed.
Emergency has been declared in all hospitals in Muzaffarabad after Indian missile attacked civilian population. One of the injured has been identified as 15-year-old Nimra. She has been shifted to surgical ward, and her condition is reported to be improving, as per hospital sources.
The military spokesperson confirmed that Indian aircraft were not allowed to enter Pakistan’s airspace and that the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) remains fully alert and ready to respond to any aggression.
According to DG ISPR, the Indian military launched missiles that struck three separate locations inside Pakistan. However, the spokesperson clarified that the cowardly attack was conducted from within Indian territory, with their jets avoiding any incursion into Pakistani airspace due to the readiness of the PAF.
Punjab cities on high alert, airports closed
Khanewal is also reportedly resonating with the flight of warplanes and Islamabad International Airport has been shut down for flights; all flights have been diverted to Karachi. Pakistan’s airspace to be completely closed
“The enemy showed cowardice by firing from across the border, but let there be no doubt—we will respond. A befitting reply will be given at the time and place of our choosing,” the DG ISPR declared, adding that Pakistan reserves the right to retaliate in a manner it deems appropriate.
“The readiness of our air force ensured Indian jets could not dare to enter even a single inch of Pakistani territory,” he emphasized.
Reports emerged of shelling in different areas of Neelum Valley in Azad Kashmir where India was reportedly shelling on the front lines. However, the Pakistan Army is said to be retaliating.
Emergency in Punjab
Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir has directed all public hospitals across the province to remain on high alert in response to escalating Indian aggression. Medical superintendents (MS) and chief officers (COs) of all hospitals have been instructed to prepare for any emergency situation. The minister also ordered the formation and readiness of quick response teams.
“We stand firmly with the Pakistan Army,” said Khawaja Imran Nazir. “India has once again carried out a cowardly act under the cover of darkness. No matter how strongly we condemn it, it is not enough. The entire nation stands united with our armed forces in this critical time.”
Meanwhile, fighter jets were reportedly seen flying over Faisalabad, sparking concern among residents. According to aviation sources, overflying operations by foreign airlines through Pakistani airspace have been temporarily suspended due to the situation. However, flight operations for arrivals and departures at Pakistani airports are proceeding as usual.
In Kot Momin, loud sounds of warplanes caused panic among locals, prompting many to rush out of their homes.
In Multan, Indian aggression led to the declaration of an emergency at Nishtar Hospital. A hospital spokesperson confirmed that all doctors and staff have been instructed to stay on high alert.
In Bahawalpur, a missile attack reportedly targeted a religious seminary. So far, 14 injured individuals have been shifted to Bahawal Victoria Hospital. There are unconfirmed reports of fatalities and additional injuries. The deceased and injured are being transferred to Bahawal Victoria Hospital for treatment.
In Sialkot, as a precautionary measure, lights around the airport premises and surrounding areas have been turned off, according to an airport spokesperson.
