Amid simmering tensions between Pakistan and India, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi is scheduled to arrive in Islamabad on Monday for a one-day official visit, diplomatic sources confirmed.
MrAraghchi will be leading a high-level delegation and is expected to hold key discussions with his Pakistani counterpart, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. The talks will focus on bilateral relations as well as the evolving security situation in the region, sources added.
The visit comes at a time of heightened geopolitical unease following recent escalations between Pakistan and India. While official details remain limited, observers see the Iranian Foreign Minister’s trip as a diplomatic effort to engage regional stakeholders and encourage de-escalation.
According to officials familiar with the matter, the Iranian delegation will depart for New Delhi on Tuesday, continuing its regional outreach aimed at fostering dialogue amid the unfolding crisis.
Foreign Minister Araqchi’s stop in Islamabad is part of Tehran’s broader engagement strategy, seeking to maintain balanced ties with both Islamabad and New Delhi, despite the growing rift between the two nuclear-armed neighbours.
