Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday asserted that Pakistan has achieved economic stability through relentless efforts, while institutional reforms and systemic rectifications are in progress to ensure long-term national progress.

In his special message on the occasion of Pakistan Day, the premier paid tribute to the country’s founding leaders, highlighting the significance of the Lahore Resolution of 1940, which laid the foundation for an independent Muslim state in South Asia.

“Under the inspiring leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal, our forefathers set a clear goal for the creation of Pakistan. The Pakistan Resolution remains a guiding document, reminding us of our collective purpose,” he said.

The prime minister emphasized that Pakistan, as an independent and sovereign nation, must remain steadfast in its pursuit of progress. “The green crescent flag waving above us is a testament to the unwavering faith and determination of our ancestors,” he remarked.

Shehbaz highlighted the contributions of Pakistanis across various fields, including industry, education, and sports, stating that their hard work continues to enhance the country’s global standing.

Economic progress and reforms

Addressing the country’s economic situation, the prime minister claimed that the government has successfully achieved economic stability after months of hard work.

“The parliament, judiciary, and administration are functioning within their constitutional domains, and the process of institutional reforms and system correction is ongoing,” he asserted.

His remarks come amid persistent economic challenges, including inflation and fiscal deficits, which remain key concerns for policymakers. The government has been pursuing reforms under the IMF program, with measures aimed at stabilizing the economy through improved revenue collection and structural adjustments.

Tribute to armed forces

The premier also lauded the sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces and law enforcement agencies in the fight against terrorism.

“From the military to the police, FC, and Rangers, our security forces are displaying exceptional courage and dedication to protecting the nation. I salute them from the bottom of my heart,” he said.
