Govt sets March 31 deadline for evacuation of illegal foreign residents

2 min read

The government has reiterated its decision to repatriate all illegal foreign residents and Afghan Citizen Card (ACC) holders, setting March 31 as the final deadline for voluntary departure.

With only 16 days left before the cutoff date, authorities have warned that strict legal action will be taken against those failing to comply. The move is part of the government’s broader policy to regulate immigration and ensure national security, officials said.

According to government sources, arrangements have been made to facilitate the return of individuals, including provisions for food and healthcare during the transition process.

Officials have assured that the repatriation process will be carried out in a humane manner and that no individual will be mistreated.

This is the latest phase in Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to deport individuals residing in the country without legal documentation.

Last year, the government launched a similar campaign, resulting in the voluntary and forced repatriation of thousands of undocumented Afghan nationals.

Authorities have urged affected individuals to comply with the deadline to avoid legal consequences, which may include arrest, detention, and deportation.
