Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced the establishment of Danish University following the success of Danish Schools. He stated that the university will be an applied sciences institution aimed at achieving global recognition.

Chairing a meeting of the Danish University Steering Committee, the prime minister emphasized that leading scholars and experts from around the world will be invited to contribute to the institution.

He added that the university will serve as a milestone in shaping the future of the younger generation, providing exceptional educational opportunities to talented students.

The estimated cost of the project is £190 million, and the prime minister stressed the importance of ensuring its timely completion. He highlighted that Pakistan has never had an institution of this kind before.

Speaking about the funding, PM Shehbaz stated that the £190 million was deposited in the Supreme Court’s account, and he thanked the Chief Justice for recognizing that the money rightfully belongs to the government and the people. He further noted that the government has been given full discretion over the utilization of these funds.

The prime minister criticized the previous handling of the amount, calling it an act of dishonesty and mismanagement, as it was transferred to an account unrelated to Pakistan’s treasury.
