ISLAMABAD: The Chinese embassy in Pakistan has announced that only land port between China and Pakistan, the Khunjerab Pass has begun operating year-round from December 1st, 2024.
The statement released by the embassy on Wednesday, stated that this development marks a significant milestone in enhancing trade connectivity and fostering people-to-people exchanges between China and Pakistan.
According to the details, the year-round opening of the Khunjerab Pass is expected to bolster tourism, trade and cultural exchanges by creating new opportunities for both countries.
Located in the Karakoram Mountain range, the pass has historically served as a vital trade route between the two nations. Now, with uninterrupted access, it will further facilitate smoother movement of logistics and people.
