High-speed internet: IT ministry starts working on National Fiberisation Policy

The IT ministry has started working on the National Fiberisation Policy to ensure the availability of high-speed internet across the country.

According to details surfaced on Friday, it had been decided to promote the local investment in the country according to the National Fiberisation Policy. According to documents, it had been vowed to install the high-speed infrastructure to ensure it meets the digital requirements.

The IT ministry said, “The National Fiberisation Policy will allow the broadband coverage.”

Acknowledging the importance of the new policy, the documents stated: “The National Fiberisation Policy will reduce the digital gap between the rural and urban areas of the country.”

It had been said that the policy has been shaped by keeping the 5G requirements.

The National Fiberisation Policy stated: “The Pakistani companies will be prioritized for the optical fiber and other tools.”

The statement said: “The National Fiberisation Policy will play a key role in the digital transformation.”
