Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has stated that the federal and Punjab governments are “shaken” as they impose nationwide restrictions to counter the upcoming protest called by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
According to Gandapur, the government’s actions have already turned PTI’s planned demonstration into a success. He criticized the federal and Punjab administrations for what he described as panicked responses.
“The government’s closure of motorways and highways, and the enforcement of Section 144 across Punjab, prove that they are rattled,” he asserted, adding that the closure of hotels and bus terminals only reinforces this perception.
The chief minister noted that PTI is still in the preparatory stages for its November 24 protest but claimed that the government’s preemptive lockdowns have amplified PTI’s message.
Underscoring that the demonstration will remain peaceful, he accused the government of inconveniencing the public with its restrictive measures.
Referring to PTI founder Imran Khan, Gandapur claimed that a single call from him has thrown the government into disarray.
“Even from behind bars, he has forced the rulers into a frenzy,” he said, suggesting that the government’s reaction to PTI’s protest preparations speaks volumes about its apprehensions.
