Punjab wildlife dept recovers rare eagle worth $36,000

Punjab Wildlife Department in collaboration with local police acting on a tip-off conducted an operation in Taunsa and seized rare eagle valued at over $36,000 in the global market.

Officials confirmed that the eagle was physically healthy and fit for release.

The accused is believed to be part of a larger network involved in the illegal smuggling of rare birds abroad.

In response to the successful operation, Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb extended congratulations to the Wildlife Department on behalf of the Chief Minister of Punjab, praising their commitment to protecting endangered species.

Punjab Wildlife department announced that the recovered eagle will be fitted with a tracker before being re-released into its natural habitat, ensuring that it can be monitored in the wild.
