Eid-ul-Azha: Record breaking animal trade in Punjab’s cattle markets

Punjab cattle markets witnessed an influx of more than 1.8 million animals, including over 0.6 million large animals while in Lahore cattle markets a maximum number of 0.77 million animals were sold.

Punjab’s local government department issued data from nine divisions. As per the dashboard of the municipality department, the total count of animals brought to the livestock markets in Punjab reached 1.812 million including 1.2 small animals and 0.612 large animals.

The Municipal Secretary claimed that the best facilities were provided to the animals and the traders in these markets.

Additionally, Shakeel Ahmed Mian stated that the local government and district administration took stringent actions against illegal sale points to ensure a smooth and regulated trade environment.
