Govt permits export of 150,000 of sugar on mill owners demand

The federal government has given conditional permission to export 150,000 metric tons of sugar at the demand of sugar mill owners.

In the Sugar Advisory Board meeting presided over by the federal minister of industry and production. Federal Minister of Industry and Production Rana Tanveer chaired the Sugar Advisory Board meeting

The Punjab government and the Pakistan Sugar Mills Association signed an agreement. Federal minister Rana Tanveer said Sugar export will depend on price stability and stock availability in the country.

“Availability of sugar stocks and price stability will be ensured. Ex-Mill price of sugar will not be increased under any circumstances,” Rana Tanveer Hussain said.

All pending payments to farmers will be made on a priority basis and the Sugar Advisory Board will review sugar prices and market in 15 days.
