The Meteorological Department has issued an advisory indicating that the ongoing heat wave is likely to end this week, bringing much-needed relief to residents across various regions of Pakistan.
According to the latest forecast, upper regions of the country can expect thunderstorms from June 4 to 7. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) is predicted to receive rain from June 4 to 8, while Punjab and Islamabad may experience rainfall during June 4 to 6.
In addition, the Met Department anticipates rain in Balochistan from June 5 to 7, and in Sindh from June 6 to 7.
The advisory comes as a relief to many areas suffering from the intense heat. The predicted rainfall and thunderstorms are expected to not only cool temperatures but also improve air quality and provide some respite from the prevailing hot and dry conditions.
Meanwhile, heat wave continues to dominate most parts of the country, particularly in the southern districts, according to the latest forecast from the Met Department, with a mix of hot and humid conditions and sporadic rain in some areas.
The southern districts remain under an intense heatwave, with temperatures soaring to extreme levels. Coastal areas, including Karachi, are experiencing hot and humid weather, though there is a slight possibility of drizzle along the coastline, offering minor relief.
