Punjab Assembly: Reserved seats memberships of treasury lawmakers suspended

Punjab Assembly speaker has suspended additional reserved seats for women and minorities in light of the Supreme Court’s ruling.

The Speaker declared the point of order of the opposition member Rana Aftab on certain reserved seats. Speaker Punjab Assembly read out the decision of the Supreme Court in the assembly session.

The speaker ordered the implementation of the order of suspension of members from today. The desk of the Sunni Ittehad Council welcomed the speaker’s ruling.

Who are the suspended members?

Sadia Muzaffar, Amira Khan, Fiza Maimoona Soumia Atta, Abdah Bashir, Rahat Afza, Maqsudaan Bibi and Rukhsana Shafiq Tahsin Fawad.

The memberships of Maria Talal and Farzana Abbas Sajda Naveed were also suspended.

The membership of Shaughta Faisal, Nasreen Riaz, Uzmi Butt, and Afshan Hassan has also been suspended.

The suspended Syeda Samreen Taj is related to Muslim League-Q including Samira Nazir.

Shahrbanu, Zeiba Ghafoor Kanwal Nauman, Rubina Nazir and Saima Zahid suspended.

Three minority leaders are also deprived of special privileges. Membership of Tariq Masih, Wasim Anjum, and Basrooji was suspended.
