Superintendent Jail Muhammad Wasim said confirmation of HIV in 16 prisoners of Central Jail in Peshawar.
It was confirmed during the blood screening of prisoners. As per data, a blood screening of 549 prisoners was conducted. The superintendent-affected prisoners are drug addicts.
Superintendent jail said after verification, they are kept separately from other prisoners and infected prisoners being treated.
Muhammad Wasim said that tests are also being conducted on the wives of the affected prisoners.
