The Islamabad Accountability Court has barred PTI Founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi from making statements in the courtroom against state institutions and authorities.

Judge Nasir Javed Rana issued a comprehensive order on a petition filed by Imran Khan for a fair trial. The order encompasses directives aimed at maintaining decorum within the courtroom and ensuring unbiased proceedings.

The judge prohibited the husband-wife duo from speaking during court proceedings against state institutions and authorities, even in a sarcastic manner. He also instructed the media to refrain from publishing provocative statements against political figures and institutions.

The judge noted that the former prime minister was accused to making political, inflammatory, and biased statements, adding that statements against the judiciary, army, and the army chief were contrary to judicial etiquette and detrimental to the justice delivery process.

“It is the responsibility of the court to maintain the requirements of court etiquette and fair trial,” the judge ordered.

The order also directed the authorities at Adiala Jail to restore the jail court to its pre-Eid position, adding that the media would also limit its reporting to the proceedings of the court and refrain from publishing statements made by the accused during the trial.
