Pakistan earns over 12 bln USD from textile exports in first 9 months of FY 2023-24

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has earned 12.444 billion U.S. dollars through textile products exports in the first nine months of the current fiscal year starting from July 2023 to June 2024, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) said on Thursday.

The exports of textile products, however, witnessed a nominal decline of 0.26 percent during July-March of the current fiscal year as against the exports of 12.476 billion dollars during July-March of the last fiscal year 2022-23, said the PBS.

On a year-on-year basis, textile exports increased by 3.29 percent, going up from 1,257.799 million dollars in March 2023 to 1,299.173 million dollars in March 2024.

On a month-on-month basis, the textile exports decreased by 7.67 percent when compared to the exports of 1,407.105 million dollars in February 2024.

The textile commodities that witnessed positive trade growth included raw cotton, cotton yarn, bedwear, towels and other made-up articles.
