Fardeen Khan will return to acting in the upcoming web series Heeramandi, The Diamond Bazaar, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Fardeen, who plays Wali Mohammed in the historical drama series, debuted a first-look poster on Netflix on Saturday.

Fardeen returns almost after a 14-years of absence. His last big-screen appearance was in Dulha Mil Gaya. The actor then had taken a break from acting, abstaining from all films and social media.

In Heeramandi, The Diamond Bazaar, which is based on the life of the red-light district in undivided India and the courtesans of Lahore, Fardeen appears in a whole new persona, dressed in historical clothing and wearing a moustache.

Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chaddha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Sharmin Segal are among the cast of Heeramandi.

Heeramandi, The Diamond Bazaar, a filmmaker’s 14-year passion project, is hailed as an epic tale of love, power, retribution, and liberation. Heeramandi, the film produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Prerna Singh with an idea by Moin Beg, will be available for streaming on Netflix from 1st May.
