2 policemen killed in attack in NW Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Two policemen were killed by unknown gunmen in Pakistan’s northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in the wee hours of Saturday morning, police said.

The incident happened in Lakki Marwat district of the province, where about seven terrorists stormed a local businessman’s office and police reached the site, police sources told Xinhua.

Observing the arrival of police, the culprits opened fire at police vehicle before fleeing the scene. The two policemen died at the spot while another was injured and shifted to a nearby hospital.

No group claimed responsibility for the attack. The area was cordoned off for investigations.
