The first batch of premium cattle from Brazil has landed at Sialkot International Airport. The American company “National Airlines” flew them in via a Boeing 747 cargo plane, marking a major step forward for the Green Pakistan Livestock Initiative (GPLI) under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
The cattle, boasting superior genetic traits, comprise nine breeds including. This blend aims to enhance meat and milk production across Pakistan.
The 22.5-hour flight from Sao Paulo, Brazil, made stops in Angola and Oman before touching down at Sialkot International Airport, covering a record-breaking distance of 9,044 miles.
Key players such as Mari Petroleum Company Limited, Fongrow Private Limited (Fongrow), and the Brazilian and Pakistani Ambassadors played pivotal roles in ensuring the smooth export process.
After landing, the cattle were transported to Okara for a two-week quarantine period before distribution to local farmers. This careful step ensures the animals’ health and the interests of Pakistan’s agricultural community.
