The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is set to witness the election of its new chairman during a special meeting of the PCB Governing Board scheduled for tomorrow at 2:00 PM.

The key huddle will be hosted at the prestigious National Cricket Academy, serving as the backdrop for what promises to be a significant moment in Pakistani cricket administration.

The responsibility of overseeing the election process has been entrusted to Election Commissioner Shah Khawar, who has called for this special meeting.

Notably, the Governing Board comprises influential representatives from various regions and organizations, ensuring a diverse and comprehensive representation in the decision-making process.

Naqvi a strong candidate

On the other hand, Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi, emerges as a formidable candidate for the coveted position of PCB Chairman. His nomination has gained traction, fueled by his prominent role as the caretaker chief minister of Punjab, a position that has undoubtedly bolstered his candidacy.

The Governing Board includes two representatives of the Patron, Mohsin Naqvi and Mustafa Ramde, alongside representatives from Azad Jammu Kashmir, Dera Murad Jamali, Larkana, Bahawalpur, Sui Northern Gas, Ghani Glass, State Bank, and PTV. This amalgamation of diverse voices and perspectives highlights the inclusivity of the election process.

In a unique aspect of the proceedings, the Secretary of the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination or another designated representative will participate as a non-voting member, adding an additional layer of transparency and accountability to the election.
