ICC Teams of the Year 2023: Where are Pakistani stars?

The International Cricket Council (ICC) recently unveiled the Men’s Test and ODI Teams of the Year 2023, recognizing outstanding individual performances throughout the calendar year.

However, to the dismay of Pakistani cricket fans, no players from Pakistan secured a spot in either team.

Pat Cummins, the captain of the Test Team of the Year, led Australia to their historic World Test Championship (WTC) 2021-23 victory and claimed 42 wickets during the year. Five Australian players, including Cummins and Mitchell Starc, were featured in the team, making Australia the most represented nation.

Indian-Aussies dominance in ODI team

The Men’s ODI Team of the Year for 2023 showcased a dominance of players from Australia and India, particularly those who played crucial roles in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup final.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma captained the team, with stellar performances that included an impressive 1255 runs at an average of 52. Travis Head, the Australian batsman, played a pivotal role in their World Cup triumph.
