At least five terrorists were killed by security forces in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the general area of Mir Ali, North Waziristan district, said a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday.

“After an intense exchange of fire, five terrorists, including terrorist commander Rahzaib, who is also known as, ‘Khuray’, were sent to hell,” said the statement issued by the military’s media wing,

The militants had remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the security forces as well as in extortion and target killings of innocent civilians, the military’s media wing further disclosed.

“Weapons and ammunition were also recovered during the operation,” the ISPR added.

The press release stated that a sanitisation operation was being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area, “as the security forces are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country”.

Earlier on December 8, five terrorists were eliminated in an IBO conducted by the security forces in the general area of Mullazai, Tank district.
