In a scene straight out of a cartoon, a journey for a scrap aeroplane took a comical detour in Bihar’s Motihari when it got stuck under a bridge and caused a major hindrance in traffic flow.
The metal bird, hitching a ride on a trailer truck from Mumbai to Assam, found itself grounded after misjudging the clearance under a bridge in the Piprakothi area. Traffic screeched to a halt as the bewildered plane perched precariously, its wings nearly brushing the concrete ceiling.
News of the airborne roadblock spread like wildfire, drawing curious onlookers and creating an instant viral sensation. Videos flooded the internet, showing long lines of cars and trucks patiently waiting behind the grounded flyer.
Authorities, summoned to the scene, quickly diagnosed the issue – a case of overestimating the underpass height on the part of the truck driver. Luckily, the plane and its chariot were soon unhitched and resumed their journey, leaving behind a trail of amusement and a cautionary tale about bridge-based miscalculations.
This wasn’t the first time the sky met the road in such a peculiar way. Just last November, Andhra Pradesh witnessed a similar scene when another scrap plane got stuck under a bridge, proving that sometimes, even grounded birds can take flight in the realm of odd occurrences.
