The anticipation for the upcoming episode of Koffee With Karan 8 featuring Arjun Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur reached its peak when the promotional video of the episode was released. Additional details from the show have now surfaced, shedding light on Aditya’s discussion about being labelled ‘the thirst trap’ and how he leverages this image in his popular web show, The Night Manager.
During the show, host Karan Johar queried Aditya about whether he has grown weary of being termed a ‘thirst trap.’ According to Bollywood Hungama, Karan asked, “Do you feel objectified for your sexy persona, you’re called a thirst trap? Everytime people talk about you there is a glaze like a certain kind of sexiness that is talked about and then you do a show which is hugely successful called The Night Manager where you are also unabashedly, unapologetically sexy walking strutting around you in cleverly constructed shorts, obviously, there is an image you are also playing to, do you sometimes feel like, ‘I am more than my looks.’”
In response, Aditya Roy Kapur pointed out that at least people don’t refer to him as ‘ugly.’ He said, “I don’t feel like I fuel that fire that much. I mean it’s not like I am sitting around posting these thirst traps, I am more often posting pictures of sunsets and weird songs. I look at it as a positive, it’s a good thing at least people are not saying ‘what an ugly guy’. People are saying something positive.”
He added, “As far as the recognition for the work is concerned, I have done enough work over the years, I don’t feel like that hinders the perception of the work that I do, it only adds to it.”
In the earlier released promotional video, Karan asked Aditya if he is dating Ananya Panday. To which the actor replied, “Ask me no secrets and I will tell you no lie.” Karan then asked Aditya, “If you were to get stuck in a life with Ananya Panday and Shraddha Kapoor, what would you do?” To which Arjun said, “Aashiqui toh zaroor karta, ab kiske saath ye nahi pata,” as Aditya exclaimed. Arjun then said, “Just joking”, imitating Chunkey Pandey, father of Ananya. There were rumours that Aditya and Shraddha had dated while filming for their hit romantic drama Aashiqui 2. It is also speculated that Aditya is dating Ananya Panday, but the two haven’t confirmed their relationship yet.
