BENGALURU, India: Bengaluru, capital city of India’s southern Karnataka state, in the past weekend held its first-ever Kambala buffalo race, a centuries-old folk sport in Karnataka.
The racing event took place on the slush tracks in the Palace Grounds in the city, with the participation of over 150 buffalo pairs. Jockeys held the reins tight and whipped the buffalos to compete in four categories.
