Asia Album: India happily welcomes Diwali festival

BHOPAL, India: People are busy preparing for the upcoming festival of Diwali, or the festival of lights, in India, buying decorations like flowers and small colorful lights with gusto.

Diwali is India’s major festival of the year, a time to celebrate the triumph of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and good over evil. The five-day festival falls on Nov. 10 this year.
