Silk Road Int’l Communication Forum ready to start in China’s Xi’an

ISLAMABAD: The Silk Road International Communication Forum is all set to commence in Xi’an city of China’s Shaanxi province on Wednesday.

Xinhua News Agency along with the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government are jointly hosting the Silk Road to implement the important outcomes of the China-Central Asia Summit and establish a platform for in-depth cooperation among media organizations along the Silk Road.

The event, being held from Oct. 25-26, will also aim to further enhancing cultural exchanges and mutual learning within the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

The forum is being held one week after the significant success of Third BRI Forum in Beijing which was attended by the leaders of different countries, including Chinese President Xi Jinping and Pakistani Prime Minister Anwar ul Haq Kakar.

Distinguished guests who will attend the Silk Road International Communication Forum will include leaders from China’s central government agencies such as the Publicity Department, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and Xinhua News Agency.

It will also be attended by foreign diplomats in China, prominent individuals with a deep understanding of China from overseas, leaders of international mainstream media, heads of publicity and cultural tourism departments from various provinces and cities in China, as well as experts and scholars in related fields.

Editor-in-Chief of “Internews Pakistan” Muhammad Aslam Khan will attend the forum and will give a keynote speech.

The forum is being jointly organized by News and Information Center of Xinhua News Agency, Xinhua News Agency Shaanxi Bureau and the Xi’an Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government.
