Nine female teachers suspended for refusing polio duty in Swabi

1 min read

The Swabi Education Department on Friday suspended nine female teachers who refused to participate in polio duty during the recent anti-polio campaign.

The department has suspended these teachers and initiated further disciplinary measures against them.

According to the Swabi Education Department, female teachers across Swabi district had been trained to administer polio drops as part of the ongoing efforts to eradicate the crippling disease. However, despite the training provided, nine teachers failed to fulfill their duty during the anti-polio campaign.

In response to their absence, authorities decided to suspend these teachers, sending a clear message that non-cooperation in public health initiatives would not be tolerated.

Out of the nine female teachers facing suspension and disciplinary action, seven are associated with government schools in Razar Tehsil, while the remaining two are from Topi Tehsil.

It is worth noting that the Swabi Education Department has taken proactive steps to prepare teachers for their roles in the polio vaccination drive by providing them with the necessary training.
