National team Fast bowler Hasan Ali and his wife Samiya Arzoo are gearing up for a long-awaited family reunion during the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup in India.

The couple, who tied the knot at Dubai’s Atlantis The Palm in 2019, wasn’t able to meet to Samiya’s family in Haryana, India since their wedding.

Their family reunion will happen when India faces Pakistan in Ahmedabad on October 14, during the highly anticipated World Cup match.

Samiya’s father, Liyakat Khan, a retired Block Development Officer from Haryana’s Nuh district, will finally have the opportunity to meet his two-year-old granddaughter, Helena, for the first time. “I can’t wait to hold my grandchild,” expressed the excited grandfather.

Samiya was unable to travel to India in 2021 when she was expecting her first child, making this reunion all the more special. Liyakat Khan eagerly anticipates the chance to reunite with his daughter and son-in-law in Ahmedabad.

The 63-year-old grandfather went through a rollercoaster of emotions leading up to the World Cup, as Hasan Ali’s name was initially absent from the Pakistan squad. It was only when teammate Naseem Shah sustained an injury during the Asia Cup that Hasan Ali was selected as a last-minute replacement.

An ardent cricket enthusiast, Liyakat Khan plans to convey his regards to coach Rahul Dravid and hopes to capture a photograph with his favorite player, Virat Kohli.

He has expressed his desire to seek assistance from his son-in-law in making this dream a reality, adding an extra layer of excitement to the family reunion.
