Shoaib Akhtar defends Pakistan captain in Kohli vs Babar debate

3 min read

An interesting debate unfolded between former Indian spinner, Harbhajan Singh and legendary Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar. Their conversation centered around analyzing and contrasting the abilities and achievements of Virat Kohli and Babar Azam.

Harbhajan expressed his belief that Virat has already established himself as a great player, while Babar still has a lot to achieve to reach that level. However, Harbhajan acknowledged Babar’s immense talent and described him as a great player.

“Virat Kohli has established himself as a great, Babar Azam still has a lot to do. He will get there one day, because he is a great player. He is very good in Test cricket, but maybe T20 does not suit him too well,” Harbhajan said on his YouTube channel.

Akhtar joined Harbhajan on his YouTube channel and shared similar views on the comparison between Kohli and Babar. Akhtar defended Babar against the criticism he faced in T20 cricket and believed that he is constantly working to improve his skills in the shortest format of the game.

According to Akhtar, “Virat Kohli is the greatest, and Babar Azam is in the process of becoming the greatest batsman of all time. He is trying to improve in T20Is. People criticize him without valid reason.”

The cricketing world is filled with discussions and debates among fans and experts on the comparison between Virat Kohli and Babar Azam, both highly regarded players. Ultimately, only time will tell the extent of Babar’s achievements and whether he can achieve the legendary status that Virat Kohli has in his career.
