Sajid Sadpara successfully climbed Nanga Parbat without oxygen support

Renowned Pakistani mountaineer Sajid Sadpara has successfully scaled the ninth-highest peak, Mount Nanga, without the aid of supplemental oxygen.

The mountaineer, who has already scaled the six highest peaks without artificial oxygen, confirmed the news on his official Twitter account.

Sajid said his ascent to the summit of Mt., which stands at a height of 8,126 meters, was part of a rope-fixing campaign by the leading team. He said it was the first summit of the mountaineering season in Pakistan.

In May, Sajid made history when he climbed Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak, without supplemental oxygen and the help of Sherpas, who are considered Nepal’s elite climbers.

The young mountaineer fulfilled the wishes of his late father Muhammad Ali Sadapara and became the first Pakistani to climb the world’s highest peak without the aid of supplemental oxygen.

It may be noted that Sajid, son of legendary mountaineer Ali Sadapara, is aiming to climb 14-8-thousanders without the aid of supplemental oxygen. He has already climbed K2 (8,611m), Gasherbrum-I (8,080m), and Gasherbrum-II (8,035m) in Pakistan, as well as Manaslu (8,163m) in Nepal without supplemental oxygen.

Climbing the highest peak without oxygen was not the only feat of the alpinist, as in September last year, Sajid became the first Pakistani to truly summit Mount Manaslu – the world’s 8th highest peak.
