
The Defense Housing Authority (DHA), one of Karachi’s upscale residential areas, has banned non-residents from entering Nisar Shaheed Park in Phase VI of the locality. the news Report
Taking to Twitter on Thursday, the housing authority said that non-DHA residents are no longer allowed to enter the park.
DHA requested its residents to follow the procedures laid down by the area management to enter the park “to ensure a friendly and peaceful environment.”
It also said residents must visit the park with family members.
Moreover, the authorities have also issued a dress code for DHA residents to visit the park. It said visitors “must dress appropriately.”
The tweet said that those wishing to visit the park must wear a sports kit or at least, paired with a shalwar kameez or pants and shirt.
“Entry is not permitted for non-DHA residents with or without family,” the tweet read. However, it did not specify the method of identifying non-DHA residents.
When contacted for comment on the new guidelines, DHA spokesperson Farooq Rizvi did not respond despite repeated calls.
However, while talking to a local media outlet, he briefly said that the decision was taken “in the best interest of the residents of the society”.
