
A major obstacle to Pakistan football team’s participation in this month’s South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Cup was cleared on Wednesday when the All India Football Federation (AIFF) received clearance from the Indian government to host the Pakistan football team.
Reliable sources in both Indian and Pakistan football have confirmed to this correspondent that the Indian Ministers of Sports, Interior and External Affairs have given all necessary clearances for Pakistan’s participation in the tournament.
The regional football tournament will be played from June 21 to July 4 in Bangalore and for the event, Pakistan will be in India from June 18 to July 5.
Sources said worldly news That the AIFF sent an email to the PFF providing them with all the necessary documents along with the official invitation letter.
Documents have also been sent to the Indian embassies in Islamabad and Mauritius to issue visas to members of the Pakistan football team.
A PFF source confirmed that Pakistan is planning to apply for an Indian visa from Mauritius as the team flies there to participate in the four-nation tournament.
Sources also confirmed that Pakistan’s Foreign Office has issued clearance to the team to travel to Mauritius, but the Foreign Office is yet to decide on the team’s visit to India.
