Babar will play for Colombo Strikers in the Lankan Premier League

LAHORE: Pakistan captain Babar Azam has signed with Colombo Strikers for the upcoming fourth season of the Lanka Premier League (LPL).

Azam was one of the players to be acquired outright ahead of the auction scheduled for June 11.

The upcoming fourth edition of the LPL is scheduled to take place from July 31 to August 22.

Pakistan is scheduled to tour Sri Lanka for a two-match Test series before the LPL, which is part of the World Test Championship for the next cycle.

The Greens are expected to play a three-match ODI series against Afghanistan in the second week of August. So Pakistan captain will be partially available for LPL.

The tournament will have five teams and will be held at three venues, possibly Hambantota, Colombo and Kandy.
