
LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Sunday unveiled the schedule for the Test series against Australia, the Benaud-Qadir Trophy, which will be played between now and next year.
“Pakistan will travel Down Under to take on Australia in the Benaud-Qadir Trophy later in the year. The three Tests part of the third World Test Championship cycle will be played in Perth, Melbourne and Sydney in December and January, a Cricket Australia statement said.
According to a statement released by the PCB, the first two Tests of the series will be held in December 2023, while the third Test will be held in January 2024.
Pakistan and Australia last met in red ball cricket in March last year, when the latter won the three-match away series.
“This will be Pakistan captain Babar Azmar’s third Test tour of Australia. The prolific stroke-maker had previously landed on Australian soil in December 2016 under Misbah-ul-Haq and November 2019, when Azhar Ali captained the team. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said in a press release. said in the notification.
“The right-handed batsman has 278 runs – including a century – in five Tests. During the 2019 tour, Babar scored a second-innings century in the first Test in Brisbane and followed it up with 97 in Adelaide,” it added.

December 26-30: Second Test, MCG
January 3-7: Third Test, SCG
Apart from Pakistan, Australia will also host the West Indies and South Africa during the home season where both men’s and women’s teams will be in action.
