Chinese military action film “Born to Fly” released in North America

LOS ANGELES: Chinese military action film “Born to Fly” opened in a limited theatrical release in North America.

 

The film is being released by Well Go USA Entertainment in Mandarin with English subtitles in 75 selected theaters in Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, New York, Boston, Miami, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Toronto, Montreal and a few other North American cities with a large overseas Chinese population.

 

Directed by Liu Xiaoshi, and starring Wang Yibo, Hu Jun, Yu Shi and Zhou Dongyu, the film tells the story of an elite team of test pilots who are tasked with testing China’s new fighter jets, featuring the J-20 and other advanced fighter jets.

 

The film has grossed 118 million yuan (about 17 million U.S. dollars) after being released in the Chinese mainland on Friday, according to the box office data compiled by Maoyan, a Chinese movie-ticketing and film data platform.

 

“Born to Fly” currently boasts a rating of 9.7 points out of 10 on the Maoyan platform from over 68,000 viewers.
