LAHORE: Police claimed to have killed a high-profile robber during an alleged encounter on Raiwind road in the provincial capital in the wee hours of Friday.
According to police, a wanted robber involved in more than 50 cases of firing during robberies was killed during an encounter.
The police claimed that upon seeing the police party approaching towards them the suspects opened fire on police and as a result the suspect identified as Arif was killed.
However, accomplices of the deceased suspect fled the scene. Police are setting up pickets to arrest the runaway suspects at earliest.
