Saudi govt announces four-day Eidul Fitr holidays

SAUDI ARABIA: The Saudi government has announced public holidays for Eidul Fitr.

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has announced a four-day Eid holiday plan for private and non-profit sectors in the kingdom.

In a post on Twitter, the ministry said Eid break would begin on Friday, April 21, meaning residents can start their holiday at the end of the working day on Thursday that will continue till April 25, Tuesday.

Millions of Muslims across the globe, including Pakistan, will have the privilege of performing Aitkaf today on Tuesday, April 11, 20th of Ramazan.

Aitkaf is the practice of secluding oneself during the final 10 days of Ramazan, in a Masjid for men or at home for women with the intention of solely dedicating your time to the worship of Allah Almighty, leaving the worldly concerns behind.

It is a great Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah, highly virtuous, rewarding and an act that every Muslim strive to perform at least once in lifetime.

Aitkaf starts after sunset on the 20th of Ramazan and ends when the moon for Eid is sighted.
