ISLAMABAD, Sep 22(ABC): Former interior minister and Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed on Thursday challenged the formation of federal cabinet in the Islamabad High Court (IHC).

In his writ petition filed in the high court, the former federal minister stated that only 11 percent of the parliament can become ministers, while the federal cabinet of the ruling coalition consists of 72 members.

The petition also stated that the 72-member federal cabinet of the Shehbaz government is a clear violation of Article 92 (1) of the Constitution.

He prayed the court to take up the case on an emergency basis.
